President Bola Tinubu’s administration has promoted more than 103,000 personnel across Nigeria’s four paramilitary services between 2023 and 2026, according to figures released by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

A breakdown of the figures published by the minister on his Facebook page shows that thousands of personnel received promotions annually across the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) and Federal Fire Service (FFS).

The figures indicate a sustained pattern of promotions across the four agencies over the four years, with more than 27,000 personnel approved for promotion in 2026 alone.

Below is a breakdown of the promotion figures for each year.

1. 2023: Over 32,000 Personnel Promoted

In 2023, more than 32,000 personnel across the four paramilitary services were promoted under the Tinubu administration.

The figure represents the highest annual promotion total among the figures provided for the period under review.

2. 2024: Over 20,000 Personnel Promoted

In 2024, more than 20,000 personnel received promotions across the NSCDC, NIS, NCoS and FFS.

Although the figure was lower than the total recorded in 2023, thousands of officers and other personnel across the agencies benefited from the exercise.

 3. 2025: More Than 24,000 Personnel Promoted

The number of personnel promoted increased in 2025, with more than 24,000 promotions recorded across the four services.

The figure represents an increase of at least 4,000 compared with the minimum reported total for 2024.

4. 2026: Over 27,624 Personnel Approved For Promotion

In 2026, more than 27,624 personnel were approved for promotion across the four paramilitary agencies.
