Major streets in Kaduna metropolis, including Waff Road, Independence Way and Yakubu Gowon Way, were filled with supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday ahead of the party’s campaign flag-off at Ranchers Bees Stadium.

Women, youths and other APC supporters gathered across parts of Kaduna metropolis as they awaited the arrival of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the party’s campaign flag-off.

Some of the supporters who spoke with our correspondent urged the president to prioritise human capital development, tackle insecurity and facilitate the safe return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to their ancestral communities.

Abdullahi Salisu, one of the supporters, called for greater investment in education, skills acquisition and employment opportunities, particularly for young people.

He said empowering youths with relevant skills and opportunities would improve their livelihoods and enable them to contribute to national development.

Similarly, Aminu Illiyasu stressed the need for the government to intensify efforts to address insecurity, saying improved security would protect lives, restore confidence and enable residents to engage in economic activities without fear.

He urged the authorities to sustain efforts to restore peace in communities affected by insecurity.

Aisha Umar, another supporter, called on the federal government to prioritise the plight of internally displaced persons, particularly those forced to abandon their homes because of insecurity.

She stressed the need to ensure that affected communities were safe for residents to return and rebuild their lives.

The turnout of supporters, including women and youths, added to the atmosphere in the Kaduna metropolis as the party prepared for the campaign flag-off at Ranchers Bees Stadium.IMG 20261024 WA0021

As supporters awaited the president’s arrival, their demands highlighted expectations for improved security, investment in human capital development and lasting solutions to displacement.
