•Accuses Opposition Of Using AI To Misinform Nigerians
The Director-General of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign, Abdul Aziz Yari, has said about two million farmers have pledged to vote for the President in the 2027 general election.
Yari disclosed this on Saturday while addressing supporters at the flag-off of Tinubu’s re-election campaign in Kaduna, insisting that the opposition would not defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) through what he described as artificial intelligence-generated misinformation.
He accused opposition groups of using AI-generated content to spread false claims about Tinubu’s administration, particularly its agricultural policies.
“They claim that your administration does not support farmers and that you hate farmers. That is not true.
“We have clear evidence of what your administration has done, what it intends to do and what it continues to do for farmers.
“The farmers themselves understand the truth.
“By God’s grace, about two million farmers have made a commitment to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, in sha Allah,” he said.
The former Zamfara State governor said the choice of Kaduna as the venue for the campaign flag-off was deliberate, describing the city as a strategic political centre in Northern Nigeria.
According to him, the successful organisation of the event reflected the collective efforts of APC governors across the country, particularly Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, whom he said had spent the preceding 10 days coordinating preparations with other stakeholders.
Yari also defended the economic policies of the Tinubu administration, saying the government had taken difficult decisions to reposition the Nigerian economy after inheriting significant challenges.
He cited improvements in the exchange rate and foreign reserves as evidence of progress under the administration.
According to figures he presented, the exchange rate had improved from a point when the dollar was approaching N1,800 to about N1,300, while foreign reserves had risen from approximately $3.9 billion to $54.7 billion.
The campaign director said the administration’s achievements, alongside continued engagement with communities, would form the basis of the APC’s campaign for a second term.
He added that the campaign organisation had been engaging traditional rulers, religious leaders, elders and other influential stakeholders to explain its message and promote peaceful political participation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Yari expressed confidence that Northern Nigeria would support Tinubu’s re-election bid, saying APC governors and party structures across the region were working to mobilise voters.
He maintained that the ruling party would defeat its opponents through public engagement and by presenting the administration’s record rather than through misinformation.
Reflecting on the political journey of the President’s supporters, Yari said their allegiance had endured through different political platforms and realignments over the past three decades, including the Alliance for Democracy (AD), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the APC.
He, therefore, reaffirmed the campaign’s commitment to Tinubu’s re-election, expressing optimism that the party would secure victory in the 2027 general election.
