Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma, has declared that there is no Rainbow Coalition in the state, insisting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the only party Nigerians can trust.
Uzodimma also said the votes President Bola Tinubu would receive in Imo State would be organic, attributing the anticipated support to the performance of the president’s administration.
The governor made this known on Tuesday during the distribution of campaign vehicles by the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
He urged residents to vote for APC candidates at all levels, including the state House of Assembly, governorship, House of Representatives, Senate and presidency.
According to him, the party has no credible alternative in the state.
“All Progressives Congress is the only party we can trust. Vote APC for the House of Assembly. Vote APC for the governor. Vote APC for House of Reps.
“Vote APC for Senate. Crown it with APC in the presidency. We have no other party.
“We will win our elections in Imo State. The votes that will come from Imo State are organic votes. These are votes that the owners decided to vote because they have seen the performance of the president,” he said.
Uzodimma also acknowledged the contributions of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement coordinators and High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, whose team was involved in the campaign vehicle distribution.
However, he warned APC members against using the vehicles for personal political interests, insisting that they were provided to mobilise support for Tinubu.
“You are members of APC. If I see you voting, I will collect the vehicle from you. You are here, you are empowered to work for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Tompolo and All Progressives Congress,” the governor said.
Reaffirming his position on political alliances in the state, Uzodimma declared that the APC would not share political space with any Rainbow Coalition in Imo.
“There is no rainbow coalition in Imo State. Are you listening?” he asked.
The governor expressed appreciation to Tompolo and his team for their support, pledging continued cooperation with them.
“We are grateful to Tompolo, High Chief Tompolo and his team. We continue to be grateful to you.
“Count us as your partners. Whenever you need us, let us know. On APC we stand,” he added.
