President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has offered prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity and prosperity during his performance of the lesser Hajj, known as Umrah, in Saudi Arabia.
The President, in a message expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to perform the spiritual exercise, said he used the occasion to pray for Nigeria and its citizens.
Tinubu prayed for lasting peace, stronger national unity and divine protection for Nigerians, while seeking Allah’s blessings on the country’s collective efforts to achieve greater prosperity.
“This is a deeply spiritual moment for me, and an opportunity to offer prayers for our beloved country, Nigeria, and all our people,” the President said.
He added, “May Almighty Allah accept our prayers and supplications, grant our nation lasting peace, strengthen our unity, protect our people, and bless our collective efforts to build a more prosperous Nigeria.”
The President also prayed for divine wisdom and strength in the discharge of his responsibilities to the nation.
He further asked Allah to accept his acts of worship, concluding his supplications with “Ameen.”
Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah, can be performed at any time of the year, unlike Hajj, which takes place during specific dates in the Islamic calendar.
