Yobe Govt Trains Finance Directors, Other Financial Managers In AI, Blockchain, Forensic Analytics

The Yobe State Government has organised a three-day capacity-building workshop for 50 Directors of Finance, Directors of Internal Audit and other financial managers across its Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), focusing on the application of emerging technologies in public financial management.

The workshop, facilitated by Ventures Consultancy Nigeria Limited, is holding at Tahir Guest Palace in Kano.

With the theme, “Emerging Technologies in Public Financial Management: Applications of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Forensic Analytics for Public-Sector Financial Managers,” the training is designed to strengthen the capacity of government financial officers to deploy modern technological tools in financial administration, monitoring and control.

The programme brings together key public-sector professionals, including Directors of Finance, Directors of Internal Audit, Accountants, Budget Officers, Financial Managers and other relevant officials.

The training focuses on the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in financial planning, analysis and decision-making; blockchain technology for enhancing transparency, accountability and traceability in financial transactions; and forensic analytics for identifying financial irregularities, detecting potential fraud and strengthening internal control mechanisms.

It is also expected to expose participants to emerging digital solutions that can improve financial reporting, budget implementation, risk management and the overall efficiency of public-sector financial operations.

The initiative reflects the Yobe State Government’s efforts under Governor Mai Mala Buni to strengthen institutional capacity, modernise public administration and promote prudent management of public resources.

Participants are expected to acquire practical knowledge and skills that will support the integration of technology-driven approaches into financial management processes across government institutions, thereby contributing to improved transparency, accountability and service delivery.
