A Kano Magistrate Court has sentenced TikTok user, Rabi’u Sani Zage, to two weeks of cleaning duty at the headquarters of the Kano State Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) over the defamation of the agency’s officials.
The sentence followed the court’s finding that Zage published videos on TikTok containing statements that tarnished the image of KAROTA personnel and subjected them to public ridicule.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Ibrahim Sharada.
According to the statement, Magistrate Halima Wali, who presided over the case, ordered Zage to clean the premises of KAROTA’s headquarters along Club Road, Kano, for two weeks.
The court also directed him to undertake any other task deemed appropriate by the agency in compliance with its order.
In addition, Zage was ordered to write a formal letter of apology to KAROTA’s management and pledge not to engage in similar conduct in the future.
