Under the 2005 Electric Power Sector Reform Act,  all regulations concerning electricity are made by the federal government agency for the 36 states and their 774 local government areas.

The National Assembly is now debating the need to decentralise the regulations surrounding the provision of electricity so that state governors can join in.

Energy Focus today is looking at the benefits that can come to both individuals and businesses when this bill is passed.
