The City Boy Movement has launched an empowerment programme in Zamfara State, with plans to distribute food items, motorcycles, business equipment and cash assistance to beneficiaries across the state’s 14 local government areas ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The initiative, known as the Baba Tinubu Fisabilillahi Project 2027, was launched in Gusau, the state capital, under the leadership of Dr Princess Aslam Aliyu, Gimbiyar Kaura.
The flag-off ceremony was performed by Governor Dauda Lawal as part of a planned 19-state empowerment tour across Northern Nigeria.
According to the organisers, the programme will distribute 1,000 sewing machines, 3,000 spaghetti-making and grinding machines and 1,000 soybean processing machines, popularly known as Awara machines.
Other items earmarked for distribution include 700 solar generators, 150 motorcycles and 20,000 bags of rice.
The organisers also announced plans to provide cash assistance to 15,000 beneficiaries, with a proposed allocation of ₦350 million.
However, they did not clarify whether the amount represented the total cash allocation or the proposed payment per beneficiary.
The initiative also includes a water project under which 150 hand-pump boreholes have reportedly been constructed in communities across the state.
Following the launch, the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State commissioned one of the boreholes at Mareri village in Gusau Local Government Area.
The organisers said the water intervention was designed to improve access to safe drinking water, particularly in rural communities.
The programme is being coordinated by the City Boy Movement under the leadership of Seyi Tinubu, with Aliyu serving as its matron in Zamfara.
The organisers said distribution teams would extend the intervention to beneficiaries across all 14 local government areas.
The project is also linked to political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections and President Bola Tinubu’s anticipated re-election bid.
The organisers said the initiative was intended to support livelihoods, promote small businesses and encourage grassroots participation in the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
