Coalition Urges Tinubu To Withdraw Comment On Gov Emmanuel

A coalition, Concerned Nigerians for Fairness and Good Governance (CNFGG) has urged the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu to withdraw his comment on the governor of Akwa Ibom Udom Emmanuel for the sake of unity and peace.

Addressing newsmen yesterday in Abuja, the convener, CNFGG, Mr Isikong Isong noted that the nation needs mutual tolerance for peaceful coexistence and unity.

 

Incidentally, he said any person saddled with the responsibility of power and authority must exercise the same with caution, responsibility and be accountable to the people they are leading and the country as a whole.

Commendably, he said the coalition is deeply impressed by the statesmanship disposition and political maturity exhibited by the sitting governor of Akwa-Ibom State amidst the comments on him.

He said worthy of commendation are also the good and peace-loving people of Akwa-Ibom State who have not taken the laws into their hands physically attacking this condemnable attitude.

 

According to him, “A great deal has been said and written from many quarters to the fact that this our great and beloved country needs mutual tolerance for peaceful coexistence and unity.

 

“Incidentally, any person saddled with the responsibility of power and authority must exercise same with caution responsibility and be accountable to the people they are leading and the Country as a whole.”

 

He noted that the group is in solidarity with millions of the good people and peace-loving indigenes of Akwa Ibom in particular and the Nigerian public.

 

“We pray and wish that this country shall return to its good old days where respect to constituted authority is restored,” he added.
