National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended the  Independent National Electoral  Commission (INEC) for the peaceful conduct of the just-concluded presidential election which saw the emergence of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress candidate of  Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner.

The body also commends President Muhammadu Buhari for giving space for a credible electoral process without undue interference.

The students in a press release signed by the national public relations officer, Giwa Temitope said,  “As an association, we write to commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful conduct of the just-concluded election which saw to the emergence and declaration of the Presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner.

“It is also instructive that we commend President Muhammadu Buhari for giving space for a credible electoral process without undue interference. The resolve of the President not to interfere in the activities of INEC has once again strengthened free choice which is one of the major components of democracy. As a country that practices constitutional democracy, the President has set a nice precedent in further giving independence to the electoral umpire.”
