Institut Francais will mark international women’s day celebrating women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) with a series of activities ranging from breakfast debates, film screening, and tech training from the 7th to 11th March, 2023.

On the 7th of March, the institute will screen the fictional film A Plein Temps directed by Eric Gravel, followed by the Women Circles: In Conversation – that will offer women a safe space to share ideas, experiences and perspectives on a number of issues affecting women on March 8.

March 10th will see the institute feature a breakfast debate with women leaders in Nigeria’s tech industry including TechHer’s Chioma Agwuegbo, Immersive Tech Africa’s Oluwabunmi Borokinni, and the Acting Director, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr Amina Sambo. To moderate the event is Girls Voices, Carolyn Seaman. Sandwiched between activities at the day-long event are short film screenings and the exhibition Women Scientists from Yesterday to Today.

The institute will cap off the commemoration activities with the Wikimedia Trainign 7 Edit-a-thon: Closing the Internet Gap on March 11.

Interested participants can log into the institute’s website to register for any of the events.
