Former Benue State governor and Senator representing Benue North East senatorial district, Senator Gabriel Suswam has disclosed that he has not conceded to the defeat of February 25th senatorial election, adding that he is reclaiming his mandate in court

Suswam, who spoke through his media aide, Bede Bartholomew said he has outrightly rejected the outcome of the senatorial election and has headed to the court.

Suswam lost to Barr. Emmanuel Udende of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

Suswam, who lamented that the election was marred by irregularities and discrepancies, said he has not conceded defeat.

According to him, “I will retrieve my mandate from the court because people of the zone overwhelmingly voted for him but INEC did not do their job properly.”

He however denied insinuations he lost his senatorial ambition as a result of the wrangling in the party, saying “what led to his loss was because INEC did not collate the result, even as he said that the issue the party had is different and we cannot join it with the election. A party can go into an election in dispute and still win.”

LEADERSHIP gathered that Suswam was at a meeting on Sunday convened by Governor Samuel Ortom at the government house to strategise on the next election.
