Drivers’ Union Mobilises For Bala Mohammed In Bauchi

The Bauchi State branch of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), yesterday endorsed the reelection bid of the incumbent governor, Bala Mohammed of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming governorship election.

At the endorsement forum in Bauchi attended by the governor alongside his deputy, Senator Baba Tela, the RTEAN chairman in the state, Abdullahi Mohammed said the governor deserved to be reelected in recognition of his achievements in critical sectors of the state’s economy.

He said the association has since directed its members across the state to mobilize support and votes for the reelection bid of the governor to enable him emerge victorious in the outcome of the polls to consolidate on his administration’s gains in the first tenure.

Abdullahi said the buses provided to road transport workers and the construction of urban and rural roads by Governor Bala which is for the benefit of road transport workers has assisted immensely towards improving their transport activities thereby enhancing economic development of the state.

Responding, Governor Bala Mohammed expressed gratitude to the association for supporting his reelection bid and promised more empowerment initiative for the benefit of the association and other transport unions to enhance their operations if reelected.
