A statement signed by the co-founder, Do Take Action, Precious Ebere yesterday in Abuja stated that the partnership aims to inspire about 10, 000 youths and make them change-makers at the core of the organisational vision and mission statement.

Ebere also said that the partnership would expand and lead to both organisational goals and objectives for better communities, adding that it would raise a new generation of leaders and entrepreneurs for Africa, adding that since inception, DO Take Action have inspired over 600 Grassroots Development Champions, empowered over 500 actions for sustainable development in Nigeria and across Africa, reached 50,000 beneficiaries, impacted over 60 communities.

The Ugwumba Centre for Leadership Development in Africa is a non-political, non-discriminatory, non-profit impact investment organisation established in Nigeria in 2018 with a mandate to raise a new generation of leaders and entrepreneurs for Africa.

In his address, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu announced that through this partnership, millions of young people shall be empowered through training and mentorship. He expressed fears that the major problem in our society today is lack of mentorship that should prepare the youths for the future.

Earlier, the CEO of Do Take Action, Precious Ebere informed that a “Grassroots Development Champion” (GDC) is an individual, group, or NGO registered with Do Take Action which has the passion and is willing to devote their time, skills and resources to promote sustainable development in their communities. She used the opportunity to commend the Centre for its work with youths and women across the continent.
