The director, Skyewise Managing Group, Dr Elvis Abuyere, has congratulated a former bank chief executive, Dr Dauda Lawal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on his victory as governor-elect of Zamfara State.

INEC declared the former First Bank boss winner of the gubernatorial election held on Saturday, March 18 in the state after he polled a total of 377,726 votes to defeat Bello Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress who polled 311,976.

In a goodwill message, Dr Abuyere expressed hope that the victory of Lawal, his former boss, would usher in a new dawn in Zamfara, a state battered by insecurity, urging people of the state to join forces with the incoming governor to rebuild the state for the overall good of the people.

He called on the political class to put politics behind and make meaningful contributions in raising the bar of development in Zamfara and Northwest in general.

He said, “The people of Zamfara State have spoken with their votes and as such, all stakeholders, regardless of party affiliation, must rally support for the governor-elect.

“I am optimistic that Dr Lawal, judging by his antecedents as a private sector player, will bring to bear his administrative acumen in piloting the affairs of Zamfara State.”
