Rovingheights Bookstore Nigeria has received special commendation from the London Book Fair in its Bookstore of the Year category.

The bookstore shares the spot on that awards category with Dukagjini Bookstore in Kosovo, MINOA bookstore, Turkey, and STRANDLAUFER Verlagsbuchhandlung, Germany, all first timer in the Bookstore of Year shortlist.

Rovingheights Bookstore is arguably one of the few leading bookstore chains in Nigeria, located in Lagos, and Wuse II and Garki, Area 11, Abuja. The store stocks up-to-date local and global publications from political, motivational, business, fiction, autobiographies and children’s books. It is also leveraging on partnerships with other businesses in its space, in addition to hosting book reading for prominent authors such as Archbishop of Sokoto Archdiocese, Matthew Kukah, creating workspace for mobile workers, as a means of expanding its audience.

Speaking on the award, co-founder of the Rovingheights, Adedotun Eyinade said, “this special commendation is a huge validation for the work that we do in increasing access to good books for our beloved customers in Nigeria – and it provides a timely impetus to do more.”

Other award categories shortlists by the LBF include The Sustainability Initiative Award, a new category in the fair’s International Excellence Award (IEAs) which features Bloomsbury Publishing, UK, New Society Publishers, Canada and Penguin Random House, UK, emphasizing the importance of sustainability measures within the publishing industry.
