National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal in Niger State has received 11 petitions from the February 18, 2023 polls.
The candidates of the People Democratic Party (PDP) presented seven petitions while the candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) filed four cases.
Already a three-member panel to be headed by Justice A.O. Opensawo, Justice Nasiru Saminu and Justice Sylvester Popnen and Abba Dahiru Umar as the secretary is to decide the cases.
Notable among the cases as obtained yesterday by LEADERSHIP are the case between Isiyaku Ibrahim (SAN) of the PDP against Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), APC and Senator Musa Mohammed Sani disputing the outcome of Niger East senatorial district election.
Also, Shehu Mohammed Abdullahi of PDP filed a petition against INEC, and Governor Sani Bello Abubakar of APC against the declaration of the latter as the winner of Niger north senatorial election.
In the same vein Senator Bima Muhammed Enagi of APC filed a petition against Jiya Peter Ndalikali of PDP and INEC for the declaration of Ndalikali as the winner of Niger south senatorial district election.
Others are Hon Abdullahi Abubakar Lado of APC against INEC, Tanko Adamu of PDP for declaring Adamu as winner of Gurara/Suleja/Tafa federal constituency.
The petition by Abdullahi Usman of APC against Gana Joshua Audu of PDP challenging the declaration of Gana as winner of Edati/Lavun/Mokwa federal constituency election.
Also, Hon Abubakar Shehu of PDP against Abdullahi Garba of APC for Kontagora/Marga/Mashegu/Wushishi federal constituency.
Haruna Abubakar Magaji of APC’s petition against Tanko Adamu of PDP contesting Gurara/Suleja/Tafa federal constituency result and Mohammed Nazeem Abdullahi of PDP against INEC and Shehu Saleh Rijauof APC for Rijsu/Magama federal constituency.
Others are Abdulmalik Mohammed of PDP against INEC and Baraje Yusuf Kure of APC contesting outcome of Bosso/Paikoro federal constituency; Saidu Abdullahi of PDP against INEC and Mamudu Abdullahi of APC for Agaie/Lapai federal constituency, and Abdullahi Mohammed Ricco of PDP against Ismail Musa Moddibo of APC and INEC for Munya/Rafi/Shiroro federal constituency.
