Sulu-Gambari stressed that it is only in the atmosphere of peace and tranquility that the nation can advance politically, economically and socially.

He said, “Nigeria is on the verge of democratic advancement and therefore, more commitment and patriotism is required to sustain it.”

He charged the new appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them by their various establishments and remain good ambassadors of Ilorin Emirate.

“You are our ambassadors and we shall continue to pray for you to achieve success in the discharge of your duties to the people of Nigeria,” the emir stated.

Earlier, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Salihu, who led other clerics in the special prayers requested God to guide and grant the appointees absolute protection in the discharge of their duties.

In his address, the Chief Imam of Hilal Crescent Centre’s Mosque, Ilorin, Prof. Yusuf Badmas, thanked the Emir of Ilorin for his fatherly support for all his subjects, home and abroad.

Badmas described the newly promoted police officers and other honorees as people of proven integrity.
