The registrar of the Gombe State Polytechnic, Bajoga Ahmed Alkali is died.

He died yesterday from an undisclosed illness and was buried according to Islamic rituals.

Alkali before serving as the registrar of the polytechnic worked at the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Federal University of Kashere where he rose to the position of deputy registrar before he transferred to the polytechnic as registrar.

Meanwhile, the governor of Gombe State Inuwa Yahaya has mourned the death of Alkali and said that the deceased had contributed immensely to the growth and development of the academic community in the state.

The governor in a press release by his director general press affairs, Isma’il Uba Misilli recalled the outstanding services and contributions of the deceased when he worked at the National Universities Commission ( NUC), the Federal University of Kashere and most recently the State Polytechnic Bajoga where he served as registrar until his death.

He expressed grief over the demise of the registrar noting that Alkali was well known for his humility, strength of character and exemplary conduct.

According to him, Alkali’s death will leave a huge vacuum not only in the academic spheres but the state in general.
