A collection of legendary English musician Paul McCartney’s tour memorabilia, outfits, instruments, handwritten lyrics, and unseen photos will be part of an exhibit at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this summer.

The exhibit is billed as the first primary museum show to display McCartney and Wings. It comes at a time when McCartney’s career is being commemorated, including Sam Mendes’ forthcoming biopics of the Fab Four and a new McCartney documentary, “Man on the Run,” set to debut on Amazon Prime Video.

The collection comprises items from McCartney’s personal archive, as well as donations from band members and associates. It will focus on the period between the musician’s self-titled 1970 solo debut and the 1971 formation of Wings, followed by the band’s split in 1981.

In previous years, McCartney has made accessible, peeks of his career and life in things like images he took during Beatlemania, “Photographs 1963–64: Eyes of the Storm”, and the books “Wings: The Story of the Band on the Run Book” and “The Lyrics.”

The exhibit is set to launch on May 15 at the Cleveland home of the Hall, a place where McCartney has been inducted twice — as a member of the Beatles in 1988 and as a solo artist in 1999. Tickets are presently on sale.
