A UK-based magazine, African Peace Magazine has named Professor (Pastor) Anthony Adegbulugbe as the African Peace Man of the Year.
The award recognises Professor Adegbulugbe’s outstanding contribution to the society and energy sector worldwide, particularly his landmark contribution to the energy sector in Nigeria.
Professor Adegbulugbe’s impressive credentials include being a former Presidential Adviser on Energy and the chairman/CEO of Green Energy International Limited, a highly successful marginal field operator of the Otakikpo marginal field in Rivers State, Nigeria. He has consistently shown an unwavering commitment to sustainable energy and philanthropy, which has endeared him to people across all sections of the populace.
In a statement issued by the chairman, Justice Suleman Galadima JSC, OFR, CFR, (rtd.), the magazine recognised the significant innovations across technologies that have made Africa’s renewable energy solutions economically viable.
Renewable energy in Africa is expected to surge, making up almost half of power generation growth in sub-Saharan Africa by 2040. This development is driving key indicators such as health, education, food security, gender equality, climate change, and livelihood, which, in turn, contributes to sustainable peace.
“The special timeless edition of African Peace Magazine UK features Professor Adegbulugbe on its cover page, a fitting tribute to his remarkable contributions to the field of sustainable energy and society at large.
“The magazine has been publishing for over 13 years and remains committed to promoting peace, equity, the rule of law, credible elections, good governance, and improved living conditions for Africans.
“On behalf of the board, management, and staff of African Peace Magazine UK, we extend our warmest congratulations to Professor Adegbulugbe on his well-deserved recognition as the African Peace Man of the Year.
