The Action Alliance (AA) has rejected a judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, which reportedly recognised the Adekunle Rufai Omoaje-led executive as leaders of the party.

The party maintained that its authentic national leadership remains Chief Kenneth Udeze, stressing that previous rulings of both trial courts and the Court of Appeal had already settled the matter in Udeze’s favour.

In a statement on Wednesday, the National Secretary of the party, Vernimbe James, said the party was surprised by the Osogbo judgment, pointing out that several judgments of courts in Abuja had consistently affirmed the Udeze-led executive.

He explained that the matter of party leadership is still pending before the Supreme Court in Appeal No: SC/CV/162/2024 between Adekunle Rufai Omoaje and others versus Chief Uzewuru Nwachukwu, Kenneth Udeze, Action Alliance, and INEC.

According to the statement, neither Udeze nor members of the party’s recognised National Executive Committee were parties to the fresh suit filed in Osogbo.

The party urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to continue to abide by the existing judgments in favour of the Udeze leadership and not accord recognition to any contrary claims until the Supreme Court makes a final pronouncement.

It also called on the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to consider transferring all pending Action Alliance cases to the Abuja Division to prevent conflicting judgments.
