Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has dismissed speculation of alleged rift between him and Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, describing their relationship as cordial and built on mutual trust and a shared commitment to the state’s development.

Abbas clarified this while speaking on the sidelines of the distribution of 60,000 bags of fertilizer to farmers under the Renewed Hope Fertilizer Distribution 2026 program in Zaria.

He urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united and disciplined, warning against rumor-mongering, gossip, and actions that could create divisions within the party.

According to the Speaker, political differences should never be allowed to undermine the party’s collective interest and development.

His remarks followed growing speculation of a disagreement between him and Governor Sani, which had sparked heated exchanges among their supporters on social media and raised concerns about the APC’s unity in Zaria, the Speaker’s political base.

However, Abbas insisted that there was no crisis between them and reaffirmed their commitment to working together for the benefit of Kaduna State.

“There has never been a time when the Executive in Kaduna State and members of the National Assembly from the state enjoyed the level of cooperation and understanding we have today,” he said.

“The governor and I enjoy a close relationship founded on trust, mutual respect and a common determination to improve the welfare of our people through purposeful leadership and effective collaboration.”

The Speaker said those attempting to create discord between him and the governor would not succeed, stressing that their partnership remained focused on delivering democratic dividends and promoting inclusive development across the state.

He added that his office serves the interests of the entire state, not just Zaria or Kaduna North Senatorial District.

“We are committed to serving every part of the state with fairness, justice and inclusiveness, while ensuring that government programs and development projects reach communities without discrimination or political consideration,” he said.

Abbas also appealed to residents to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying the President had demonstrated a strong commitment to Kaduna State through policies and projects aimed at improving the lives of its people.

He further urged APC members to conduct their political activities peacefully, avoid bitterness and place the unity and progress of the party above personal ambitions.

The Speaker reaffirmed his commitment to implementing people-oriented programs and projects that would improve livelihoods, boost agricultural productivity and accelerate socio-economic development across Kaduna State.
