Former Nigerian Head of State Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar has lost his younger sister, Hajiya Talatu Abubakar.

Family sources confirmed that the deceased died yesterday morning after a brief illness.

She was buried according to Islamic rites at the funeral rites conducted at the Minna Central Mosque by the Deputy Chief Imam, Mallam Habibu Limawa.

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago was among the numerous sympathisers who attended the funeral; he consoled the family for their loss.

The governor at the funeral extended condolences to the former Head of State, Gen. Abubakar, and his family over the loss, saying death is an inevitable end to all mortals.

He encouraged them to continue reflecting on and cherishing the memories they shared with the deceased.
