Abia State Primary Health Development Agency (ASPHDA) has built, renovated, and installed modern medical equipment in 778 primary health centres across the state.
The executive secretary of the commission, Chigozie Adindu, stated this during an interaction with LEADERSHIP in Umuahia, the state capital, adding that the centres’ services are standard and affordable.
He attributed the feat to the efforts of development partners in collaboration with the state government “to ensure the agency performs optimally.”
Commending the partners and the government for the intervention, the executive secretary noted that it had gone a long way to restore the confidence of the people in the centres.
Adindu said following the achievements, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) recently posted the state as the second in the country in quality skilled health attendants and service delivery.
