The All Progressives Congress (APC), Abia State chapter has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election after passing a vote of confidence on him.
The chapter also passed same vote on the deputy speaker, House of Representatives, Hon Benjamin Kalu, Senator Orji Kalu, Hon Chris Nkwonta, and Hon Emmanuel Ndubuisi for their quality representation.
These were contained in a communiqué issued by the chairman, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu; secretary, Chief Chidi Avajah, Sen Nkechi Nwaogu, and Nkwonta after a stakeholders meeting in Umuahia, the state capital.
“The stakeholders resolved to work relentlessly to ensure victory for the party in the 2027 general election in all elective positions in the state including the governorship,” the communiqué read.
The communiqué directed the State Working Committee to commence a comprehensive and seamless e-registration of members as mandated by the APC National Working Committee.
”All stateholders are encouraged to intensify grassroots mobilisation and to continue attracting new members to further strengthen and expand the party’s structure.”
It further said the stakeholders, while noting the need for sustained unity, cohesion and collective purpose among members of the chapter, lauded Ononogbu “for his capable leadership”.
Earlier in a welcome address, the chairman said the meeting was an opportunity for them to chart a course and discuss the way forward for the party in the state
”We remain one united family, solid and strong to embark on the 2027 General Election to win all the seats from the State House of Assembly to the presidency,” Ononogbu noted.
”I admonish and encourage every stakeholder, every member, ever loyal party faithful to put differences aside, rebuild trust, and work together with renewed hope and shared vision.”
”Let us open our arms to welcome other groups and members, so that we can truly build a big, inclusive all progressives family where every member finds purpose, dignity and hope.”
