The remains of the late mother-in-law of Abia State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Madam Ednah Ogonda  Udenze (Nee Waka), aged 79, has been laid to rest in her husband’s compound in Agbiyi, Umuede Nkpa, Bende local government.

The funeral service officiated by the  Rt Rev (Dr) James Anyanwu was conducted by the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Diocese of Uzuakoli, Nkpa Circuit at Afo Imenyi Nkpa Primary School Playground yesterday.

Speaking at the service, the 2023 governorship candidate and leader of the party in the state, High Chief Ikechi Emenike, said he was pleased to hear that she was a woman of peace and love.

“Going by the quality of her children and in-law who I have good relationships with and the testimonies of her family members, the church and the community she lived a life worthy of emulation,” he added.

Similarly, the chairman, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, said the in-law was an example of inspiration to him and his family, adding that she had much impact on the family through his wife.

“My mother-in-law deserves garlands, not wreaths, praises, not tears, smiles, not sorrows, happiness, not sadness. She had great strength and filled with wisdom, compassion, honour and love,” he added.

In his homily, the second son of the deceased, Pastor Ikechukwu Udenze, said part of his greatest joy and achievement in life was that he led her to Christ, adding that he was confident she would make Heaven.
