Abia State government has appointed Brigadier-General N.V.U Nnorom (rtd) and five others as chairmen of six boards in the state.
The boards and the chairmen are Homeland Security, Nnorom; Electricity Advisory Council, Sam Amadi and the Umuahia Capital Development Authority, Emeka Uwakolam.

Inaugurating the boards in Umuahia, the state capital, Governor Alex Otti explained that the government was intentional in the choices of their compositions.
He informed that some of the appointees are neither from the state nor the Southeast saying that his administration doesn’t discriminate when it comes to searching for the best.
“We don’t discriminate. We seek value wherever we can find it. If you live here, if you have something to contribute, we welcome you with open arms.
”We’ve assembled these eggheads to help us in executing this transaction so that our people can have access to quality services.”
Responding on behalf of others, the co-chairman of the council, Ikechukwu Monday expressed gratitude to the government for the appointments.
Monday, who is the commissioner for Power and Public Utilities, also assured that they would work as a team to deliver their respective mandates.
