Wife of Abia State governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti, has visited a woman, Ifeoma Ehighibe and her set of quadruplets delivered at Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia, the state capital.
During the visit, she donated clothes, diapers, food items, two bags of rice, household essentials and cash to the family, describing the birth as miraculous.
Represented by the commissioner for Women Affairs,Maureen Aghukwa, she said she will mobilise her team to ensure they received adequate care and wished them well.
“We will not stop at visiting them in the hospital. We will stand by the family to ensure they have the means to raise these children successfully,” she said as she encouraged husbands, especially those whose wives delivered multiple babies, not to abandon their families in moments of need.
“My office is always open to support families blessed with multiple births. No woman should be left to struggle alone after bringing such joy into the world,” she said.
The first lady, who urged nursing mothers in the state to embrace exclusive breastfeeding of their babies, commended the FMC for its quality service delivery.
Medical director of the FMC, Azubuike Onyebuchi, represented by the head of Nursing, Nnanna Imo, appreciated her for the visit and donations.
