Abia State government and a German firm have proposed to establish a treated mosquito net factory and to collaborate on other areas of economic development in the state.
The state‘s governor, Alex Otti and a delegation led by the German consul general to the country, Weert Borner discussed this during a meeting in Umuahia, the capital.2025
Otti assured the delegation that the state, given its economic potentials and conducive business environment , remains one of the country‘s top investment destination.
We‘re ready to support investors by providing land, infrastructure, and policy backing to ensure their success. Our approach is based on partnerships, not dependency on grants,“ he said.
Directing the commissioner for Lands and Housing, Chaka Chukwumereije to provide land for the proposed factory, he commended the delegation for their visit to the state.
Earlier, Borner said German firms are particularly interested in agriculture, environmental sustainability, health, waste management, energy, vocational training, and digital transformation.
He expressed interest in fostering economic collaboration between German companies and the state and commended Otti’s commitment to good governance and development.
