The Abia State government has announced support for Noah Geoffrey, a resident who is trying to break the Guinness World Record for painting faces.
The state’s commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu stated this while briefing the media on the outcome of this week’s executive council meeting chaired by Governor Alex Otti.
“Mr Geoffrey aims to paint 300 faces in one hour, which, if achieved, would surpass the current record of 217, as recorded by the Guinness Book of World Records.
“With the official approval from the Guinness World Records, the attempt is set to take place at Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba on May 23, 2025.”
The commissioner further explained that the state Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy “is partnering with Geoffrey to achieve the feat”.
“Materials for the painting are being sourced from Aba. The government supports the process of promoting a local talent to showcase the creative potential of the residents at the global stage,” he said.
Kanu noted that in a couple of weeks, the Governor Alex Otti-led administration would be marking its second year in office, which he said would be marked in a low-key manner, despite its achievements.
