Renewed Hope Partners (RHP), Abia State chapter, has received N500 million for mass mobilisation, grassroots enlightenment, and voter education for the 2027 general election in the state.
The deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu announced this during the inauguration of the chapter in Bende, the headquarters of Bende local government area.
Kalu explained that the RHP, a support group for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda (RHA), is “a movement of purpose, unity, and national transformation.”
“The RHP is socio-political mobilization group aimed at deepening national integration, championing President Tinubu’s development agenda, and repositioning the Southeast in Nigeria’s power dynamics,”
The deputy speaker also noted the president’s love for the South East, which include strategic appointments of the people including the minister of Works, David Umahi and infrastructure development.
Kalu, who described Tinubu is a firm believer “in brotherhood we stand”, urged residents of the state “to reject divisive rhetoric and resist politicians who aim to mislead the electorate in 2027.”
In a remark, the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kingsley Ononogbu stressed that the RHP must align itself with the RHA and Tinubu’s re-election objectives in 2027.
He criticized the present administration in the state “as operating under a one-man show model”, claiming that Kalu’s initiative was restoring democratic values and transparency in the state.
Delivering their goodwill messages from Abia South, Central, and North, members of the chapter, Emeka Stanley, Charles Ogbonnaya, and Cosmos Ndukwe assured of their commitment to the success of the RHP.
A woman leader, Blessing Nwagba, expressed gratitude to Tinubu for prioritising gender inclusion and for appointing women into strategic national roles in his administration.
Similarly, representative of the APC National Working Committee, Emmanuel Onyeukwu, who is the deputy national chairman (South), said, “Tinubu is a good product that is easy to sell.”
While declaring that the administration had delivered democracy dividends across the country, he urged “Ndigbo to use this period to mainstream themselves into the country’s political and economic structure.’’
Earlier, the coordinator of the Benjamin Kalu Network, Emmanuel Eke, lauded Kalu’s roles in establishing the Southeast Development Commission and the Peace in the Southeast Project.
