The senator representing Abia Central, Austin Akobundu, has distributed 1,200 bags of rice to his constituents in the spirit of Christmas and the New Year celebrations.
At the event held at his Olokoro country home in Ikwuano local government area, Akobundu, represented by the director-general of his 2023 campaign council, Emeka Inyama, appreciated them for their support for him.
The Peoples Democratic Party senator therefore, used the forum to restate his commitment to providing quality representation and delivering democracy dividends in the district.
In a remark, the state chairman of the party, Amah Abraham, represented by the assistant financial secretary, Obioma Igwe, lauded Akobundu for his philanthropic gestures.
He said the onetime organising secretary of the party had been a source of blessing and inspiration to not only the party faithful, but also the entire state and prayed God to continue to bless him.
Contributing separately, Akobundu’s Isiala Ngwa North legislative coordinator, G.C. Iwuoha, and Osisioma Ngwa chairman of the party, Emeka Onyenso, described the senator as the pillar of the party in the state.
In their separate vote of thanks, leaders of the party from Isiala Ngwa North, G.O.C Nnaji; Isiala Ngwa South, Akudo Ibe, and Umuahia South, Anthony Ukobasi, appreciated the senator for his magnanimity.
