Abia Teachers Recruitment Committee Warns Against Fraudsters

The chairman of Abia State committee for recruitment of primary and secondary school teachers, Uzoamaka Amah-Mbah has warned prospective applicants against fraudsters.

Amah-Mbah, who is also the secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Board handed down the warning while Interacting with newsmen in Umuahia, the state capital.

She advised the applicant not to give money to any persons to facilitate their employment, but to follow the guidelines for the application and to study hard for the examination.

“This is a new Abia and under the present administration, it is no longer business as usual. Any persons caught in the act will be dealt with according,” she noted.

The chairman, who said a portal would be opened for the application on a fixed date, explained that the application will include sections for Persons Living With Disabilities.

She also lauded the governor, Alex Otti for approving the recruitment which is expected to engage over 2,000 teachers and his vision to reposition education in the state.

The chairman, therefore, urged both traditional and religious leaders in the state to pass the message to their subjects and members, assuring of transparency in the exercise.
