Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has charged the traditional rulers in the state not to renege in their efforts at proffering solutions and recommendations that would continually influence government’s policies in the best interest of the people of the state.

Abiodun gave the charge yesterday at the statutory monthly meeting of the state Council of Obas held at the Conference Hall of the Obas’ Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.

The governor revealed that the unwavering support, cooperation, and collaboration of traditional rulers have helped the state in achieving its status as the fastest growing economy in Nigeria.

He emphasised that the contributions of the royal fathers to the peace that existed at the grassroots have made the state to be reckoned with as an industrialized and investment destination of choice in the country.

The governor explained that the assistance and inputs of the traditional rulers have contributed to the several steps taken to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy.

While admonishing the monarchs to partner his administration in its resolve to further build the state through the “ISEYA” mantra, Abiodun further assured that his administration would continue to accord the traditional institution in Ogun a special place throughout its tenure.

Earlier, the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, charged the traditional rulers to continue to use their positions at work for the development of the state and see the present administration.

In his remarks, the chairman, Ogun State Council of Obas, the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, lauded the government for its generosity, soliciting that the gesture should be extended to others who have not benefited.
