Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, has said the institution is committed to strengthening its delivery of distance learning programmes through digital technologies.

Ahmed spoke at the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a partnership between the university and DazzleView Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd in Guangzhou, China, held in Zaria.

He said collaborating with technology companies could address one of the most pressing educational challenges facing many developing countries – the problem of out-of-school children.

The vice-chancellor also said that effective pathways to expand access to quality education for underserved and vulnerable populations could be explored by leveraging technology-enabled solutions.

Ahmed described the partnership between ABU and DazzleView as an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration in educational technology, research, capacity building, and industry engagement.

“Together, we can connect knowledge with practical application, transform ideas into solutions, and ensure that technology serves as a powerful tool for inclusion and development”, he further stressed.

He explained that the MoU on smart education signed by ABU and DazzleView was a foundation for a stronger, more productive relationship between the two organisations.

Ahmed, however, noted that the university was also placing strong emphasis on entrepreneurship and the commercialisation of research outputs, as well as on ensuring that discoveries and innovations were translated into practical solutions.
