An Abuja-based businessman and philanthropist, Arch Ishaya Duba Dodo, has restored solar power to the Ningo Sambe community in Akwanga Local Government of Nasarawa State after a two-year blackout.
Ningo Sambe’s community leader, Dogara Bashayi, recounted the hardship faced by the residents after their transformer was vandalised, leaving the community without electricity for nearly two years.
He explained, “Vital parts of the transformer were stolen, plunging the area into an extended blackout.”
This dire situation caught the attention of Mr. Ishaya Dodo Duba, a dedicated community development enthusiast. Committed to improving the lives of those in need, Mr. Dodo spearheaded the repair of the damaged transformer and oversaw the installation of necessary components to restore power.
The power supply was officially reinstated, ending the prolonged period of darkness. The restoration of electricity was met with widespread jubilation as elated residents celebrated the return of light and the revival of their daily activities.
Dodo’s intervention has not only restored electricity but also hope and optimism in Ningo Sambe. The community’s gratitude was palpable as they expressed their appreciation for his generous and impactful contribution.
This remarkable act of philanthropy underscores the significant difference that dedicated individuals can make in the lives of communities facing challenges, reaffirming the power of community solidarity and support.
