The quest for prestige and corporate supremacy is set to return with a bang – and this year’s PFA Games promises to be grander than ever. A minimum of ten leading Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) will vie for victory at the 2025 PFA Games, taking place in Abuja from Tuesday, 25th November to Saturday, 29th November 2025.

Over the course of five thrilling days, competitors will engage in a variety of events including Football (7/9-a-side), Co-Ed Volleyball, Table Tennis, Snooker, Scrabble, Chess, Team-Bonding Activities, and eSports (FIFA), a robust display of physical prowess, mental agility, and team camaraderie.

During the draw ceremony held yesterday, organisers stressed the importance of strict regulations: participants must be full-time staff; neither NYSC Corps members nor interns will be allowed to compete. Staff verification will be conducted using RSA PINs to ensure integrity throughout all events.

Promise Onyedikachi Moses, Executive Assistant at Turf Arena Sports Centre (TASC), shared insights on the event, stating, “The camaraderie and family atmosphere we created in the last edition was wonderful. This year, we are introducing new elements to enhance the competitiveness and engagement of the games, ensuring they will be truly memorable.”

Confidence is already palpable among the competitors as they prepare to battle for glory.

Mr. Modestus Amaefule from Trustfund Pension, champions of the 2023 edition, declared, “We’re here to reclaim the title. With our preparation and management backing, we are the team to beat.”

However, they will meet fierce opposition from FCMB Pension, the reigning champions and two-time winners (2022 & 2024).

Mr. Isah Kabir Umar, representing the team, asserted, “We have no intention of relinquishing the title. We remain relentless, focused, and far from complacent.”

Moreover, PenCom is also in the mix, with their spokesperson Mr. Najib Shehu boldly stating, “To win, we must overcome everyone – and we are prepared. Our staff has made sacrifices to be here, not to merely participate but to compete vigorously.”

FCMB Pension triumphed in the 2024 edition after a gripping five-day contest in Abuja. With rivalries rekindled and ambitions soaring, the 2025 PFA Games are shaping up to be the most fiercely contested event yet.
