Nigeria’s capital city is set to strengthen its cultural and creative positioning with the soft launch of Abuja Detty December (ADD), a premium cultural and lifestyle initiative aimed at establishing Abuja as an emerging cultural hub in Africa.
Scheduled to take place on December 26 and 27, 2025, the two-day experience, according to the organisers, introduces a curated December weekend built around creativity, community engagement, cultural expression, and premium hospitality. Organisers said the soft launch represents the first phase of a long-term vision to develop a globally recognised cultural platform rooted in Abuja.
Speaking on the initiative, Fife Banks, Prosperity Development Advisor and Executive Producer of Abuja Detty December, said the project is focused on translating creativity into economic opportunity for the city.
“Our ambition is to position Abuja as a home for cultural excellence, where creativity, community, and premium experiences drive economic growth.
Abuja Detty December is not just a festive event, but the foundation of a broader cultural movement that strengthens the creative economy and connects Abuja to the global cultural landscape,” Banks said.
The soft launch will feature four flagship events across the two days, including the ADD Ignite Party and Urban Arts Festival on December 26, as well as the ADD Xtravaganza Party and Abuja FitFest on December 27. The events are expected to attract Abuja residents, diaspora returnees, diplomats, and international visitors seeking curated holiday experiences.
The organisers noted that Abuja Detty December is positioned to stimulate economic activity during the yuletide season, create creative-sector jobs, and attract new tourism flows into the capital city.
