The Acting Managing Director, of Abuja Market Management Limited Yakubu Abbas, has commended the Inspector General of Police for appointing Bennett Igwe as the commissioner of police for the federal capital territory.
He emphasised that Igwe, a former commander of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad, is a passionate cop familiar with the FCT terrain, having served in the FCT Command and Police Zone 7 Headquarters for years.
According to him, Igwe’s recent role as CP Special Intervention squad of the IGP significantly contributed to flushing out kidnappers from their hideouts in Mpape and other suburbs.
Abbas implored FCT residents to support and cooperate with Igwe to combat criminality in the territory.
“As Abuja Market management, we have intensified efforts to secure FCT markets, and with the arrival of the new CP, we plan to sustain it, expecting a full working relationship with Mr. Igwe.
“I commend IGP Egbetokun for the choice of Igwe as FCT Commissioner of Police.”
