Written by renowned playwright Femi Osofisan and directed by the talented Dire Badejo, this iconic production promises to offer theatre enthusiasts an unforgettable experience.

In a statement by the director, Dire Badejo, Once Upon Four Robbers explores the pressing issues of poverty and the moral dilemmas surrounding survival, making it strikingly relevant to today’s society.
The statement highlighted that the narrative follows the lives of four robbers trapped in a cycle of societal corruption and economic despair, showing how circumstances—not choices—can drive individuals to crime. Osofisan’s work poignantly reflects the struggles many face in contemporary African nations.

“With an impressive cast of 50 performers, the production blends dance, music, and humour, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees. As the festive season approaches, the play provides a unique opportunity to celebrate while encouraging a shift toward more positive societal goals.

“Beyond its entertainment value, Once Upon Four Robbers seeks to impart moral lessons and challenge audiences to reconsider their perspectives on historical narratives. ”
