AC Milan have inducted Brazil great Kaka into the club’s Hall of Fame. Milan posted a video of Kaka’s goals against Inter, and the former midfielder recreated a celebration he often used during his Milan career.
Kaka joined Milan from São Paulo on August 15, 2003, at age 21 for $8.5 million. Then-owner Silvio Berlusconi described the fee as “peanuts.” On his competitive debut, Kaka’s performance helped push Rui Costa, Clarence Seedorf and Rivaldo to the bench.
Across two spells at Milan, Kaka made 307 appearances, scoring 104 goals and providing 81 assists. After Milan lost the 2005 Champions League final to Liverpool, he helped the club win the competition in 2007.
That year, Kaka won the Ballon d’Or and the FIFA World Player of the Year award. He remains the most recent Milan player to be named the world’s best player.
