An academician, Dr Eberechukwu Anyabuike, has called on Scholars across the country to develop a particular interest in continuous research and the development of university curricula.
He emphasised that this would help keep the students abreast of the latest academic developments worldwide.
Dr. Anyabuike made this submission while delivering an address at the book presentation entitled “Christian Missionary Enterprise in Isu Amaigbo, 1900 -1948,” marking his 92nd birthday celebration, held in Alvan Ikoku University of Education, Owerri, Imo State.
He stressed that we live in a digital world, trends evolve daily, and scholars must brace themselves to embrace this dynamic as the reality of our time.
Dr Anyabuike challenged Scholars, academicians, and university administrators to brace up and display deep commitment and a sense of responsibility in research work and academic excellence to produce materials that stand the test of time.
According to him, when this is done, universities will have enough materials to produce students with high academic and moral standards.
In his remarks, the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Okigwe South and Archbishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev. David Onuoha, who Rev. Ernest Uzoukwu represented, poured encomium on Dr. Anyabuike, describing him as a lover of the things of God and education.
Sir Ndubuka Akpamgbo, Chairman of the occasion, lauded the celebrant as a remarkable mentor whose life is marked by multifaceted blessings. He added that the publication of his book is timely at a time when Christianity in Nigeria needs to rediscover its foundation.
Speaking, His Royal Highness, Eze Daniel Emereonye, Chairman Council of Ndi Eze in Ehime Mbano and traditional ruler of Umuduruegwelle autonomous community, commended the celebrant as an exemplary community leader and cited his significant contributions to the community’s development.
The Royal Father highlighted Dr Anyabuike’s academic achievements, notably in delivering the first community’s inaugural academic lecture and offering a scholarship to the community.
