Speaking during donation, the Northeast zonal manager of the bank, Jamila Isah Yelwa, said they were offering not only banking operations but other services to the communities where they operate, especially in times of need.

According to her, the project, ‘Nurturing Love for Babies and Mothers,’ is a testament to the bank’s commitment to the welfare of the most vulnerable in society.

“We recognise that the health and well-being of mothers and infants is  foundational to the strength and prosperity of any community. Healthy mothers raise healthy children, and healthy children are the future of our nation,” she said.

she said items donated included a fridge for blood bank, mackintosh mattresses, analogue stenliger, delivery beds, beds after delivery, wheelchairs, infant weighing scale, adult weighing scale, baby beds  and oxygen machine, among others.

She explained that the community service was to make an impact in the lives of people, help the community and touch mothers and children.

“We hope the community would make good use of the equipment, and allow each member of the community to make the best use of them.

“We have just started the community service, it will be a continuous exercise annually, and it is being done to touch the lives of less-privileged people,” she said.
