Access Bank Plc has provided potable water to a community in the Katako area of Wuro-Jabe of Yola South, a local government area in Adamawa State.
The solar-powered borehole has been opened for use by the community.
The head of operations of the bank in charge of the project, Mr Timothy Anthony, said the borehole is motivated by Access Bank’s commitment to ensuring a healthy society.
Anthony said, “Access Bank is building a healthier tomorrow, one community at a time.”
He said the project would be replicated all over Nigeria, adding, “We are bringing clean water to those in need to improve health and quality of life.”
The community chief, Alhaji Babangida Baba-Hajo, thanked God for using Access Bank to provide his people with clean drinking water.
A resident, Mrs Rhoda Idi Maina, said Access Bank had done them an exemplary favour.
“From now on, all members of my family and I will be banking the access way,” she said and appealed to the people to change their accounts to the bank.
