ACCI Inaugurates Governing Councils

President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu has inaugurated the governing council of the ACCI’s four centres.

The ACCI’s 1st deputy president, Professor Adesoji Adesugba did the inauguration of the chairmen and vice chairmen on behalf of the president. The governing councils would be responsible for the provision of leadership to drive the affairs of the centres.

According to a statement that was issued by the chamber yesterday, the councils are Nigerian Chamber of Commerce Dispute Resolution Centre (NCC-DRC) which has Prince Adetokunbo Kayode and Mr Patrick Ikwueto as its chairman and vice chairman respectively.

Professor Adesugba is to chair the chamber’s BEST Centre, while Barrister Ezenwa Anumnu serves as vice chairman.

In that same regard, Abuja Trade Centre (ATC) would be chaired by Dr Johnson Anene, with Chief Abiodun Odusanwo acting as his vice chairman.

Engr Dozie Mbanefo serves as his vice chairman.

Speaking at the event, Professor Adesugba expressed confidence in the capacity of the appointees to effectively deliver on their mandate and give the chamber a facelift. He emphasised the transformative potential of these centres in shaping the business landscape not only in the Federal Capital Territory but also across Nigeria.

Chief Obegolu stressed the strategic importance of each Centre, highlighting their role in promoting international trade, resolving commercial disputes, fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, and advocating for conducive business policies.

He urged the newly inaugurated leaders to leverage their expertise and networks to drive the success of these Centers, thereby contributing to the overall prosperity of the business community.

In response, Dr Anene who spoke on behalf of the inaugurated leaders, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged their commitment to the development and success of the Centers.

The inauguration of the governing councils marks a significant step forward in ACCI’s mission to create a vibrant and resilient business environment, driving sustainable growth and prosperity for all stakeholders.
