The leadership and members of Accord have mourned with sadness the departure of the foremost elder statesman, nationalist and leader of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum ((PANDEF), Pa Edwin Clark, saying that, indeed, an Iroko has fallen on Nigeria’s political horizon.

In a statement by the national publicity secretary, Hon. Joseph Omorogbe the party said the former federal commissioner for Information, Pa Clark, dedicated his life to public service. “He was the voice of the voiceless and the marginalised in the country. He courageously spoke truth to power, advocated for true federalism and national unity, thus contributed immensely to social justice, equality, stability and prosperity,” the statement reads.

The party said it was deeply pained that he died at a time when the nation needed his wise counsel to redirect the state’s course toward rectitude, development, and advancement.

The party urged governments at all levels to immortalise this political juggernaut who shone like a million stars in the nation’s political landscape.

“Accord shares the grief of members of his family, the government and people of Delta State and the federal government he served as commissioner for information in the General Yakubu Gowon’s regime,” the statement added.
