Leaders of the Accord Party have passed a vote of confidence in the party’s National Chairman, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, commending his leadership and describing it as visionary, purposeful and transformative.

The endorsement came during a solidarity visit by the party’s state chairmen and national officers to the National Secretariat in Area 3, Garki, Abuja.

In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Joseph Omorogbe, the party leaders, said Accord Party has witnessed significant growth under Mgbudem’s leadership, attracting prominent political figures, including Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, as well as a senator, members of the House of Representatives, state lawmakers and other candidates preparing to contest the 2027 general election.

The leaders expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious in the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election and called on residents of the state to vote massively for the incumbent governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to enable him secure a second term.

They said Adeleke’s first-term performance in governance, infrastructure, security, unity and economic development justified another mandate to consolidate on his achievements.

The party also urged Nigerians to identify with Accord Party and support its candidates in the 2027 general election, saying the party remains committed to inclusive governance and national development.

Responding, the National Chairman, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, thanked the state chairmen and national officers for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them that he would continue to work towards strengthening the party.

He stressed the importance of unity among members, noting that Accord Party would become a stronger political platform through cooperation, constructive advice and collective commitment.

Mgbudem urged members to focus on building a viable party capable of winning forthcoming elections while disregarding what he described as anti-democratic forces seeking to create division because of the party’s growing acceptance across the country.

He also advised aggrieved members to make use of the party’s internal dispute resolution mechanisms in line with its constitution, assuring them that all grievances would be resolved amicably in the overall interest of the party.

The national chairman reaffirmed that Accord Party would participate in all upcoming elections as one united family with the support of Nigerians seeking competent, compassionate leadership and good governance.
