Action Alliance Alleges Plot To Challenge Udeze’s Leadership

The Action Alliance (AA) has alleged that a group of expelled members is plotting to challenge the party’s leadership, despite a recent Supreme Court ruling affirming Kenneth Udeze as the legitimate National Chairman.

The party, in a statement in Abuja by its National Secretary, Vernimbe James accused the former members of attempting to drag the party into another legal battle.

James revealed that the faction secretly filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun State, seeking to overturn Udeze’s leadership and reinstate Omoaje as National Chairman.

The suit, registered as FHC/OS/CS/242/2024, has been reserved for judgment on March 11, 2025.

The party condemned the move, highlighting that it comes barely a week after the Supreme Court’s ruling in Appeal Number: SC/CV/922/2024, delivered on February 26, 2025, which upheld Udeze’s leadership.

The AA leadership further noted that Omoaje had previously lost multiple legal battles over the party’s chairmanship.

The Court of Appeal had dismissed his claims in a series of judgments, including suit CA/ABJ/CV/955/2022 where judgment was delivered on January 26, 2024; suit CA/ABJ/CV/869/2024 with judgment delivered on September 6, 2024 and CA/ABJ/CV/1163/2024 which ruled on November 13, 2024

The party emphasised that lower courts, such as the Federal High Court, cannot override decisions made by appellate courts, including the Supreme Court on a settled matter.

The AA legal team has been directed to take all necessary actions to counter the fresh suit, while the party urged its members across the country and beyond to remain calm and law-abiding.

It reassured them that the legitimate leadership under Barr Kenneth Udeze remains firmly in place, committed to upholding the party’s constitution and advancing its political objectives.

The statement also congratulated party members on the successful completion of the ward, local government, and state congresses, as well as the National Convention.

Reaffirming Udeze’s leadership, the party declared that the National Executive Committee (NEC) remains unshaken.

“The Chief (Barr) Kenneth Udeze-led leadership remains GIDIGBAM in light of the settled Court of Appeal judgments and Supreme Court ruling on the AA leadership dispute,” the statement said.

The party vowed to resist any further attempts to destabilise its structure, insisting that legal battles aimed at overturning final judicial pronouncements would not stand.
